Sunrise Yoga and Meditation explores a variety of yoga poses for relieving stress and tension, and concludes with a full body relaxation and short meditation practice. Our goal is to produce a sense of well-being and tranquility that will carry us into the week. Appropriate for students of all levels and experience. Meets on Sunday mornings.
Essential Yoga explores the foundations of Hatha Yoga practice by systematically introducing the most basic yoga asanas (postures) and stretches. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment of the body in yoga poses, as well as on breathing and relaxation techniques. Participants will learn methods that are helpful in calming the nervous system, keeping the mind and body healthy, and developing strength, flexibility, and balance.
This class is for those who are new to yoga, or for those with more experience but who would like an opportunity to review alignment, basic breathing techniques, and relaxation methods, thus enhancing their current practice.
This gentle class moves at a slower pace, through a series of stretches and postures that are suitable for a beginning practitioner or for someone recovering from injury. Focus is placed on moving the joints in a healthy way to improve flexibility. Attention is given to each individual's needs, allowing students to work gently and comfortably with their own bodies. Breathing and relaxation techniques leave the practitioner feeling refreshed and relaxed.
This class moves, week to week, through a variety of sequences in order to provide the practitioner with a rich and rejuvenating yoga experience. Joyful Yoga draws on classical yoga asanas, while exploring variations, flow, and techniques which focus on relieving tension in particular areas of the body. Each class closes with an extended relaxation exercise. Suitable for those with some yoga experience, of all levels.

Suitable for those that are looking for a moderate challenge, this class provides a dynamic sequence of postures from week to week. Building on classical yoga asanas, each class will challenge the practitioner to explore deeper dimensions of his or her yoga practice, and will end with an extended relaxation exercise. Modifications will be given to support people at all levels of practice, though some yoga experience is recommended.
An energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga. Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga through creative, fluid sequences of asanas. Every class is well-rounded, using cycles of effective and creative sequencing linked with breathwork, to create a whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, balance and centering. Class is appropriate for beginners and seasoned yogis, as variations will be offered.
This class will move through flowing sequences at a slow, mindful pace, one which helps the student to cultivate deep awareness of the body and breathing. Students will be encouraged to let the breath guide them through a series of graceful movements which encourage a sense of ease and peacefulness in both body and mind. Class may include some exploration of restorative poses, using props to support the body in deeper, longer-held poses. This class is suitable for practitioners of all levels including those accustomed to a more gentle class.
Come give your hips some special attention in this class. Each asana will concentrate on the mobility of the hips and bring more awareness to the pelvic region. The physical goal of hip opening asanas is one of increased range of motion in and around the joints which aids in taking stress off of other areas of your body. This class is great for athletes, people who sit behind a desk all day, and everyone in between.
Kick off your weekend with a spirited and energetic flow class set to upbeat, popular music. Music is chosen to compliment the vigorous flow with the idea of having fun on the mat and letting go of the week. We take ourselves seriously all week long. This class provides the practitioner an opportunity to be present while working off the stresses of the week and finding a sense of playfulness on the mat--a great way to start the weekend! Modifications will be given to support people of all levels of practice, though some yoga experience is recommended. Fridays at 5:00 p.m.
