I look forward to taking to my mat in Sandi’s Thursday morning class. While it is a gentle yoga class, I know she will offer interesting challenges that are always just what I need. Whether working into crow, half moon (against the wall) or humble warrior poses, Sandy is encouraging and inspiring. Having done these poses when I was a younger yoga student I am enjoying relearning them in this format.
Roseann's yoga classes are a retreat from the stresses of daily life. She creates a welcoming atmosphere that brings together students at all levels in the community. I leave her classes feeling fulfilled, peaceful, and rejuvenated.

Joyful Yoga draws on classical yoga asanas, while exploring variations, flow, and techniques which focus on relieving tension in particular areas of the body. Gentle Essentials explores the foundations of Hatha Yoga practice by systematically introducing the most basic yoga asanas (postures) and stretches. Emphasis is placed on alignment, as well as on breathing and relaxation techniques. Participants will learn methods that are helpful in calming the nervous system, keeping the mind and body healthy, and developing strength, flexibility, and balance. Practicing yoga with gentle postures, breath work, energy awareness, and loving kindness will allow each student to go deeply and safely into their practice and offer them the freedom and space to become more aware in movement, posture and breath.
Restorative yoga helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for relaxing and recuperating, reducing the stress response, and increasing positive emotions. This practice is designed to refresh the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind.
Our restorative yoga class begins with a gentle series of calm, flowing postures designed to warm the muscles and prepare the mind and body to unwind, followed by restorative poses to help the practitioner relax. Props are used to support the postures, while gently stretching and relaxing the body.

This gentle class moves at a slower pace, through a series of stretches and postures that are suitable for a beginning practitioner or for someone recovering from injury. Focus is placed on moving the joints in a healthy way to improve flexibility. Attention is given to each individual's needs, allowing students to work gently and comfortably with their own bodies. Breathing and relaxation techniques leave the practitioner feeling refreshed and relaxed.
This class will move through flowing sequences at a slow, mindful pace, one which helps the student to cultivate deep awareness of the body and breathing. Students will be encouraged to let the breath guide them through a series of graceful movements which encourage a sense of ease and peacefulness in both body and mind. Class may include some exploration of restorative poses, using props to support the body in deeper, longer-held poses. This class is suitable for practitioners of all levels.
This class explores a variety of yoga poses for relieving stress and tension while moving through slow, flowing sequences. Class concludes with a guided relaxation and short meditation. Our goal is to cultivate inner awareness and produce a sense of well-being and tranquility that will carry us into the week. Appropriate for students of all levels and experience.
In this class we will explore holding supported poses for longer periods of time to bring energy to the deeper layers of the body, such as the fascia, joints, ligaments and tendons. Yin yoga works specifically with the connective tissue to increase blood flow and flexibility. This is a healing and nourishing practice with physical, emotional, and energetic effects. The practice of Yin yoga helps to restore energy for overall wellbeing. It also helps cultivate inner awareness and a deep sense of peace through its meditative qualities. This class is suitable for all students from beginner to advanced.
An energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga. Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga through creative, fluid sequences of asanas. Every class is well-rounded, using cycles of effective and creative sequencing linked with breathwork, to create a whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, balance and centering. Class is appropriate for beginners and seasoned yogis, as variations will be offered.
Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of conscious sleep that facilitates deep relaxation, calmness, and clarity and is traditionally done in a comfortable Savasana position, lying on your back. Props such as blankets, bolsters or blocks are available and can be used to accommodate any physical issue that needs your loving assistance. Participants will be guided through a series of light movements and relaxation techniques to help them reach a relaxed state, one where they remain conscious. We will explore the techniques of mindfulness, yogic breathing, relaxation, and meditation as they are used in the practice of Yoga Nidra. Please dress comfortably in non-constrictive clothing. Yoga Nidra is highly beneficial for those suffering from insomnia, or other sleep related issues, high blood pressure, anxiety, muscle tension, and stress.
This practice allows for deep restoration, rejuvenation, and a sense of calm and is a perfect way to end the work week and transition into the weekend.
