The Art of Awareness at the Currier Museum

The Art of Awareness is a program for members of the community to gather in the quiet, beautiful space of the Currier for meditation, reflection, and dialogue. Join Rosie Latona, from White Swan Yoga, and Suzanne Canali, the Currier’s Director of education, in a 30-minute session that includes an awareness exercise and a discussion focused on a specific work of art. Works are chosen as tools to help all of us gain awareness of particular themes at each gathering and to explore the value of making meaningful connections with others.
Theme: Balance
Gallery: Scheier Gallery
Work of Art: Arghavan Khosravi, The Pool

May is mental Health Awareness month so it seems fitting to be more mindful of balance. Artists create a sense of balance by the way they arrange the elements of art in their work. Art imitates life in that human beings and nature strive for homeostasis, but it is not always easy. How can we achieve balance when we are off-kilter?
