The Art of Awareness at the Currier Museum

A program for strangers from all different backgrounds to gather and, through the power of art, become friends of thought. Join Rosie Latona, from White Swan Yoga, and Suzanne Canali, the Currier’s Director of education, in a 30-minute session that includes an awareness exercise and a discussion focused on a specific work of art. Works are chosen as tools to help all of us gain awareness of particular themes at each gathering and to explore the value of making meaningful connections with others.

Theme: Influence
Gallery: Contemporary Gallery
Work of Art: Andy Warhol, Flash- November 22, 1963

Influence is something or someone having the capacity to impact something or someone else. Andy Warhol was fascinated by celebrity and media in society and culture. It is interesting to consider how these same topics, and others influence us today. What influences you? Are these influences good or bad? Let’s consider these questions through a lens of wellness.
