The Art of Awareness at the Currier Museum

A program for strangers from all different backgrounds to gather and, through the power of art, become friends of thought. Join Rosie Latona, from White Swan Yoga, and Suzanne Canali, the Currier’s Director of education, in a 30-minute session that includes an awareness exercise and a discussion focused on a specific work of art. Works are chosen as tools to help all of us gain awareness of particular themes at each gathering and to explore the value of making meaningful connections with others.
Theme: Inner Critic
Gallery: Special Exhibitions Gallery
Work of Art: Arghavan Khosravi, The Touch

Inner critics exist in all of us. The critic asks us to check ourselves so we may experience acceptance. As more expectations for acceptance grow, the inner critic goes on a power trip and can get out of hand. What influences (April 7th Art of Awareness) your inner critic? What does it say? Awareness can strip the judgmental and cruel inner critic of its throne.
